Joanne and I are involved in ministry to divorced and divorcing
individuals because the passion and compassion for this experience has been
firmly imprinted on our hearts.
We were both married for the first time in our early 20's
and
determined to stay in those often-difficult marriages for about 10 years
until our respective
spouses chose to abandon their commitments to us.
We each remained single for about 7 years
before we met.
We spent this time "Working through" the season of pain and loss in our own
lives
and learning how to be "Wounded servants" in the Body of Christ.
At the time we met in early
1988, Joanne was teaching a small independent home Bible study for young single women in
Redlands, CA,
and I was leading a singles ministry for a Church of about 200
in San Bernardino,
California. During our courtship of 2+ years,
we developed and taught together many of the principles
we still use today.
We married in June of 1990 and finished raising a combined family of 4
boys.
Each of these young men have successfully confronted their own
childhood trauma over
the breakup of their original homes
and are living very successful and productive adult
lives.
We moved to Boise in 1994.
Two of our sons chose to make the move with us.
These men have
continued to serve God faithfully and are finding
their own ministry passion at Calvary
Chapel Boise.
We absolutely know that God is very gracious to those who will diligently and faithfully seek and trust Him for their lives. We currently live in an "Empty nest" with a golden retriever and a Siamese cat in Meridian, Idaho.
